If you are a fan of golf and you don't have a slight clue on who the inventors of the game were then you are mistaken, it's not your hobby. I will help you out with that; it was in Scotland that the first piece of golf was hit by the Scots. It was actually a rock which was hit using a stick.
They used to hit the stones no sand but this was revised in the 1770's when they came up with the best setting for playing golf. It is believed that it was in Edinburgh where the golfers came up with the idea of developing golf to the next level.
A time came when the golfers back then got fed up of hitting stones and in 1858 a Scot decided to make the first golf ball from Gutta tree sap. This made the game more interesting and credit has to be given to Adam Paterson who came up with that idea.
The rubber cored ball made it to the centre stage in 1898 and it used to go more than 400 yards. This discovery didn't last for long because the golfers were still not satisfied with the type of ball they had and that's why the opted for the worn balls in 1905.
Golf clubs also have a role they played in the discovery of golf. This is because without the club it is impossible to play the sport. It was King James IV of Scotland who came up with idea of making the golf clubs.
The process of making the golf cubs was too difficult and tense and for this reason the golfers lost hope because the clubs used to break easily.
Golf is played on a tee and in the olden days, the tee was made of rubber with three pongs. Just because today the tee sticks on the ground it doesn't mean it was the same case in the past.
Nowadays the tee that is being used was invented in 1897 by PM Matthews and it sticks in the ground to give you a good playing area.
